European SymbolismAbstractAn analytic critique of the symbol construct underlying the address which Mr. Roy Jenkins delivered as President of the European Commission to the inaugural session of the European Parliament in February, 1980. It seeks to increase awareness of the vital importance and significance of unconscious social processes as they are brought to bear on political strategy. It raises in acute form some of the fundamental issues underlying the Brandt Commission.
