Perinatal Process in Group Dynamic

Abstract

The attention of Lloyd deMause and his colleagues at the Institute for Psychohistory in New York has increasingly focused on the unconscious dynamics of current affairs. In 1980 the Institute published an article by Howard Stein examining group process using the tools of traditional Freudian post-natal analysis. This responsive critique explores the possibility of widening his assumptions to include an understanding of unconscious group process in terms of pre and perinatal psychology.
